Not boasting because there were a lot of 50's in the game but I thought I could easily compete towards the top in Slayer, and MLG and stuff. I thought I was pretty good at Halo 3 and just absolutely loved the way the game played. To be completely honest I feel that, that plays a part in the reason I am not a fan of some of the maps is because the way the game is played now is also completely different from Halo 3. I couldn't stand the Reach Maps or Halo 4, but eventually learned to just "go with it." I need to realize the Halo 2 and 3 days are unfortunately gone forever when it comes to the style of gameplay and other aspects. This was really thought out and totally agree. There is no A+ map, let alone A- and there is barely a B+ arguably in Truth.ģ43 needs to remake, not fucking forge, a scaled version of The Pit (worked well in H4 with sprint), a bigger scaled version of Guardian or Lockout, and make some new maps that don't suck. But not as bad as Reach or Halo 4, and H2A only had 3 HCS maps and 5 maps total so that "game" too. In summation, yes /u/kif23 the maps do suck. Recurve sucks, Deadlock has maybe the most retarded spawns out of any Halo map and is terrible, Basin is okay and Headlong is good but is unbalanced as fuck. Railgun is the best power weapon and the there is only one power position, top mid, which is very open and vulnerable to both treehouses/rails, the top mid jumps, and simply shooting from the bases/below. Fathom is alright.again I hated it at first, but it's symmetrical at least. Pegasus sucks hairy nutsack, Orion already got axed. I think Regret needs an oddball gametype on it. Regret is Truth's slightly retarded cousin, I don't fully agree with OP here as I think it's actually a decent map and one of the better maps probably, but it's like C+, maybe a B- at best if you love the map. Truth is by far the best map in the game and it's not even a 5-star or A rating map, it's the worst version of midship/heretic in a halo game, but it's above-average and is probably like a B-B+. They are mediocre and near copies of each other. I think Empire and Eden are decent but I wouldn't call them good. Very campy-crouch around-hide on ledges type maps. The Rig and Plaza suck for competitive play and are annoying and mediocre at best. At first I hated it but I have grown to like it 's one of the better maps for competitive play due to being near-symmetrical, but it has it's flaws for sure. Overall the Halo 5 maps aren't terrible like the Reach maps off launch prior to forging remakes were, and are better than the Halo 4 maps probably, but they kinda suck and are mediocre on the whole I'd say.Ĭalling Coliseum a 5-star instant classic is laughable. We argued about the ranking system but now let's talk maps. With that being said /u/chunkythepotato I agree with some of your points and disagree with a lot of them. Scattershot is in a neutral median point on Coliseum. I don't think midship/heretic had a remake in Reach, I do remember a similar map but it was a very loose remake if that, so Truth is an h2/h3 remake. The pit isn't a small map.it's a medium or medium-large sized map for halo 3. I only have that problem occasionally on Truth because Carbine side and Pink side look too similar to me. I can always easily tell which side and where exactly I am without even thinking about it. Yes I know there's a 'callout' at the bottom but I shouldn't need that to figure out I'm on the red/blue side. Maybe I'm just old now, but I find myself confused which side of the map I'm on very frequently. When it comes to a map like Empire, there are so many back corners that make it easy to get lost. It's an asymmetrical map, so you can't really say it's unbalanced judging by one weapon. On The Rig, one team can get Scattershot faster, but the other team can get Camo slightly faster. On Coliseum, the Scattershot is exactly halfway between the two spawns. Coliseum and The Rig have issues since Scattershot is underneath red spawn I believe in both maps.
